An informative essay is an essay which is aimed at giving more information about something new aimed at enlightening the readers about a given chosen topic. An informative essay contains three main parts namely introduction, body and conclusion.

On the introduction part, an informative essay the writer should begin by a hook that will get reader’s interested in knowing more about the topic. It should provide a good insight to the reader of what the writer is intending to write about by giving a general overview of what the informative essay should major on. A thesis statement should be provided on the last sentence of the introduction to give a broad overview of what the informative essay will talk about on the body part.

The body of the informative essay describes in details the major points with an aim of making the reader to fully understand the topic being discussed. The points raised should be accurate, be of high quality and have supportive evidence from scholarly sources. All the information should be presented clearly, with appropriate organization and logical flow of information. All information contained on the body should be thorough and appropriate for the informative essay topic. The arguments contained in the essay should show extensive research from respectable and reputed sources. Also the information should provide a detailed interesting reading that makes the reader to know something new or present already known knowledge but in a different way which can make readers to understand better and clearly.

The conclusion part of the informative essay should summarize the information contained in the body part of the essay without bringing up new information. The conclusion should also bring the informative essay to closure while still keeping the reader interested as well as leave the reader with the new information to continue thinking about.
